Where have I been lately ? well .. surfing for Indian ethnic ensemble online :D Its a huge huge source of knowledge and entertainment for me ! sometimes you find the best pieces when you are not looking for any ! trust me !
So i kind of stay updated about the latest fashion statements being made in homeland and being followed all over the world :D
so my research shows that there are 3 kinds of fashion stores here. The first 2 are totally online retail stores.
The online retails stores are again of 2 types :
1.1 Original designer wear stores :
These stores mostly sell their own creations or they house designer creations under their umbrella and sell them out to the customers. I assume the designers would be making a share of profit on their creations too this way.
These stores have pretty and pricey collections and usually take 3-4 weeks of delivery time as they first take orders and then ship stuff.
The store that tops my list in this category is Indianroots.com (because it houses Anita Dongre and Sabyasachi, my 2 ultimate fashion gods! )
This is matter of fact kind of website with products listed categorically along with the product information and designer name. They also have these short and sweet videos of the designers speaking about their styles and ideas of fashion.
Second is kalkifashion.com . They have noted designer labels under their belt too but most of the designer stuff is for reference purpose only and is not for sale. My favorite is the stuff listed under Kalki in the designers section. They have some really beautiful lehengas and anarkalis for not so steep prices ! Plus you can get 11% off on your first purchase :D
Third would be perniaspopupshop.com . Exclusively designer wear but larger collection. The highlight is that you can see which celebrity has been sporting their stuff and you can have the same too ! go to Celebrity closet . Also, their accessories section hosts Amrapali jewles by Manish Arora which is the most sought after jewellery these days !! I LOVE Amrapali even though its very pricey :D
1.2 Replica designer wear !
Yess! For those who do not wish to put in insane amount of their (or their men's) hard earned money in designer wear but cant stop lusting after those silks and zari borders, there is a cheaper alternative in the form of replica selling stores !
These stores will have the original pictures of the designer stuff and once you place an order, they will make a replica for you at almost 1/10th the price using 'similar' material and work :D Thats the catch! I am sure no one would expect a manish malhotra for 8000 rs but you can have the 'same design' for this amount. Works for me !

Most of the categories on this website will be prefixed with 'bollywood' :D :D you can see original designs and get your replica in 2-3 weeks. The plus point is that you can decide to have your stuff completely stitched or semi stitched based on your preference. Similar is http://www.mirraw.com . They have lot of stuff besides bollywood replicas like bags and home decor stuff. Similar shipping terms and 7 day return policy. I like their jewelry collection a lot since they have a lot of variety !

The home page has their fabulous collection displayed by their lovely models which makes you wanna explore more :D They house designer jewelry as well to complete your look and this makes it a one stop shop ! Their stuff has been worn by many A listed Hollywood celebs and has been published in Vogue ! very impressive ! They are head quartered in Artesia, CA.
similar to this is Carismaindia.com - an upscale boutique in Chicago, IL. Its owned by Ritu and is an exclusive women'swear store housing some gorgeous ethnic ensembles and some sexy western gowns to cater to the modern taste.
