The week has started and and we are back in our weekly routine . Wake up, have tea, get ready, work etc etc etc . We do all this because its important and because it makes our lives good (at least having Tea definitely makes life better :p )
But, you can make it even better by going an extra inch and doing something for your body, as it will make you look better, feel better and it will show !
Here is a list of things that when followed, will bring results.
1. Physical exercise
I know lot of readers would be rolling their eyes because its a well known fact that I hate working out, but before you completely wave off this activity .. read on .
People are different, they like different stuff. Yes I hate slogging it out in the gym, but hey ! I can walk !
All you need to do is figure out what you love.. cycling, treadmill, yoga, skipping or simply brisk walking on the road like me.. just remember, the lesser time you give to this activity, the higher the intensity should be.
2.CTM
Cleansing. Toning. Moisturizing.
2 times a day, all skin types. Choose products as per your skin type but try and not miss this routine. It will do wonders for your skin and keep skin issues at bay.
This is what I do :
Morning : Wash face with a mild cleanser, tone with rosewater, use an SPF based moisturizer
Night : Remove makeup. Wash face with a salicylic based cleanser, tone with a similar toner on a cotton swab, apply a hydrating serum in winters, moisturize with a night cream.
you can make your own routine based on your work conditions and skin requirements.
3. Cleaning Brushes
If you are into makeup and you are not doing this, you are making a blunder ! Your makeup brushes need to be cleaned like your clothes need to be cleaned and everything things else that gets dirty needs to be cleaned. Its mandatory. period.
You can buy ready made brush cleansers or make one of your own !
I usually just take a little bit of olive oil in a small plate, add a little bit of anti bacterial hand wash on the side and rub my wet brush in it till all of the makeup has come out. Rinse the brush out and put to dry ! Done !
If you do this once a week, your brushes will stay super clean and never break your skin out :D
4. Hair Treatments
I know most of us oil our hair Sunday night and wash it out Monday morning. Thats very good but your hair will thank you if you show them a little more love. When I was in India, I used to go for these regular hair mask treatments in the salon but since its too expensive here, I use home made hair masks every other week.
Again, you can pick a hair treatment based on your hair problems and hair types but definitely do it . It might be something as simple as an egg + yogurt treatment or an elaborate one .. what ever it is, take that effort and keep your hair healthy.
5. Face Treatments
While you have your hair all tied up with the hair mask on and you are sitting out for the treatment to sink in, use that time to prim your face !
I keep it very basic but it helps because its regular.
once you are done putting on your hair mask, wash your face and then scrub your face. Again, you can make your own or use a ready made one.. so far I have been using the chocolate Brillare face n body scrub (ofcourse for the aroma !! ) but you can also make your own at home.. there are tons of options available on google :p
After scrubbing, put on a face pack and sit n read your favorite magazine ! I usually use a home made one but you can obviously use what ever you like.
6. Body Scrub
Once your hair pack is dry and your face mask is dry and you are ready for a shower, carry a jar of body scrub with you in the shower.. The scrub beads will rub away all dead skin from your arms and legs and the oil will make the skin smooth and soft :D
Come out transformed and fragrant !
7. Nails
If you are a nail polish addict, pay a little attention to your poor nails too. Give yourself some non nail polish days. Rub a lemon on the nails when you are idle and watching TV, to whiten them. wash off and massage with some olive or almond oil... your nails will become strong and look healthy.
Love your body and it will love you back !!
